John has a degree in Molecular Genetics from Kings College London. He has worked at the Manchester Centre for Genomic Medicine in Saint Mary’s Hospital for over 15 years, initially in the former Cytogenetics Laboratory before merging with the Molecular Genetics Laboratory to form the Genomic Diagnostics Laboratory. In addition to his experience in all aspects of the Genomic Diagnostics Laboratory, John has specialist expertise in Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and the automation of laboratory processes using a variety of robotic liquid handling instruments. John also takes the lead on the laboratory’s innovation and development team for the strategy of the new Laboratories Information Management System (LIMS) and integration of new laboratory instrumentation.
