Profile

Dr Huson joined the Manchester team in 2004, moving from Oxford where she had been a Consultant since 1989. Since her original MD research on neurofibromatosis type one (1983-86), her main interest in genetics has been the diagnosis and management of the different forms of neurofibromatosis. Her clinical work is now focussed almost entirely on neurofibromatosis. Dr Huson is a Trustee of the UK neurofibromatosis association and serves on the medical advisory boards of the UK, European and International neurofibromatosis associations. Her main research interests are genotype-phenotype correlation in NF1 and developing models of care for NF1 and NF2. From April 2009, the Manchester Neurofibromatosis clinic has been nationally commissioned to provide a service for patients with complex NF1 (with the clinic lead by Dr Rosalie Ferner at Guys and St Thomas' in London).
