Dr Elizabeth Jones is a consultant clinical geneticist. She studied medicine at Cambridge University. She completed a PhD and trained in Clinical Genetics at the Institute of Human Genetics in Newcastle upon Tyne. She was appointed as a consultant in the Regional Genetic Service in 2008. Her main clinical interests are in the causes of congenital malformations and developmental disability and the genetic predisposition to cancer development. Her clinical work takes place in district general hospitals within the region (Oldham and Tameside) as well as in St. Mary's Hospital.
